Pauline Savage Bio

Pauline Savage has spent her lifetime inspired by and celebrating the beauty and intricacy of the natural world.

She has mastered multiple media in order to articulate her vision in a body of work that includes paintings, drawings, and sculptures.

Dad, Pauline and First Dog, Bungee

Pauline is a Kansas native. She lived in the Kansas City area while raising her two children, working as a recruiter for the Kansas City Art Institute, and as a representative for one of the nation's top artists' materials companies.

In 1995 she moved to the Pacific Northwest to work as a full-time artist.

In 2002 she launched Savage Design Studio in Seattle, introducing the design line of Fresco paintings that ultimately offered 87 unique images. The  frescoes were sold coast-to-coast to upscale interior design centers, galleries and high end retailers.

In 2005, Pauline moved the Studio to Littleton, Colorado to be closer to her family. She has since closed the Fresco line, preferring to create only individually commissioned works with this proprietary medium.

Community Involvement

Various Savage Design Studio works have been requested for worthy fundraising events.

Three multi-media masks were created for the 2012 Denver Hospice Mask Project fundraiser.

The multi-media mask, "Her Vibrant Self" created for the 2010 Project was featured by the organizers on advance materials for the Gala event.

Created for Seattle's Pike Place Market Foundation Parade of Pigs fundraiser, Pauline's multimedia "Circuit du Swine" was displayed on the plaza of the Federal Building during the summer, then auctioned for charity at the end of the season.

A custom Fresco painting of Eight Butterflies was auctioned for a Seattle Battered Women's Shelter fundraising event.

The June 2010 Alzheimers Association annual fundraising auction in Denver, CO featured a Certificate for a Pet Portrait.

Pauline is a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators and the American Society of Botanical Artists. She holds two Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Fine Arts, from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, and Kansas University in Lawrence. She is devoted to expanding her skills, frequently participating in artist workshops, seminars, and private and University classes.
